"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

Heh, I suppose you're right, but when somebody says that they were bored and did an artwork, it gives me the impression that they are either able to produce excellent artwork without even trying, or that they need an excuse because they personally think that their picture is not good. Or then they actually were bored and needed something to do.
